Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026 · Covers Tape Pro and Rafter Pro
The short version. Rafter Pro sends nothing anywhere: your numbers and notes stay in the browser on your phone. Tape Pro sends nothing until you buy a pass; then we keep the email you paid with, your pass code, its dates, and an id for the phone it's on. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. No accounts, no passwords, no ads, no trackers, no analytics, no tracking cookies.
Who we are
The Measure Like a Pro apps are made by Fancy Digital Works, based in New York, USA. Questions about this policy go to [email protected].
Rafter Pro
- On your phone: the span, pitch, ridge, overhang, lumber, wall, hip or valley picks, jack spacing, the math boxes, and your notes. They're saved in the browser's storage on that phone so they're there next time, and so the app works with no signal.
- Sent to us: nothing. There is no account and no sign-in. The app runs under a browser rule (a Content Security Policy) that only lets it talk to its own site, which you can verify in your browser's developer tools. Your numbers and notes never leave the phone.
- To delete: Clear all numbers (on the Welcome page or at the bottom of the Rafter and Hip tabs) wipes the numbers and picks; Clear notes wipes the notes; clearing the browser's site data or deleting the app from the home screen wipes everything. Each phone keeps its own; nothing is shared between phones.
Tape Pro
- Without a pass: the app makes up a random device id and keeps it in the browser on that phone. It means nothing outside the app. Nothing is sent to us.
- When you buy a pass: Stripe collects your card details and email on its own page and tells us only that the payment went through, the email used, and the checkout id. We make your pass code and keep, on our server: the code, the email, the date paid, the end date, the checkout ids that paid into it, the device id of the phone it's unlocked on and when, and how many times it has moved phones. We never receive or store your card number.
- The code email: we send one email with your code, from [email protected], each time you pay. If you ask for a lost code, we send it again to the email you typed, if that email has a pass. Nothing else: no newsletters, no marketing.
- Unlocking and check-ins: typing your email and code sends them with the device id so the pass can move to that phone. While the pass is live and the phone has a signal, the app sends the code and device id when it opens to confirm this is still the phone the pass is on.
- Free passes: if someone asks us to give you a pass, we keep the email they gave us for you, with the same pass record as a paid one.
- On your phone: the device id and, once unlocked, the pass (code, email, end date), in the browser's storage.
What we don't do
- No selling or renting of anything about you, ever.
- No advertising, no ad networks, no analytics, no tracking cookies.
- No accounts and no passwords. The pass is a code and the email you paid with.
- No reading of your photos, contacts, location, or other apps.
- Rafter Pro never sends your numbers or notes anywhere.
Who else touches the data
We use a few services to run Tape Pro's pass. Each one only sees what it needs for its job:
- Stripe takes the payment and holds your card details under its own privacy policy.
- Supabase stores the pass records (code, email, dates, device id), on servers in Canada.
- Resend delivers the code email.
- Cloudflare hosts the apps and this site and, like any host, sees the technical details of each request (such as your IP address) in its logs.
Rafter Pro uses only the host. Nothing from either app is shared with anyone else.
Your choices and rights
- See what we hold: for Tape Pro it's the email, code, dates and device id above. Email us and we'll send it.
- Delete your pass record: email [email protected] from the email on the pass. We delete it within 7 days and confirm by email. Deleting the record ends the pass; it can't be refunded or restored after.
- Delete what's on your phone: Rafter Pro's Clear buttons, or delete the app or clear the browser's site data on either app.
- Stop emails: code emails only go out when you pay or ask for a lost code.
If you're in a place with specific privacy rights (for example California, the UK or the EU), those rights apply and the email above is how to use them.
How long we keep things
Pass records stay after the year ends, so buying again picks up the same code; email us to delete one sooner. Payment records stay as long as the law requires us to keep them. Server logs at our host roll off on their schedule, typically within days.
Children
Anyone can use the free parts of the apps to learn, and those parts collect nothing. You must be 18 or older to buy a pass. We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18; if that has happened, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes. The current version always lives at measurelikeapro.com/privacy.
